Brickslayer

A Breakout clone made in (archaic) javascript.

What's interesting about this game isn't really the game itself, but rather the site that shows how the code evolves step by step over time.

I call this narrative programming: literate programming extended with diffs, so that you can tell the story of how a program was written, rather than just showing the final result.

Portfolio

Highlights:

  • A tic-tac-toe bot I wrote as a coding sample recently (python + django web app)
  • Some python modules I wrote. My favorite read there is probably clockwork.spy
  • Shep, a physics-based flash game I wrote with haxe and flex. My friend Sean made the awesome graphics.
  • bodyblog: I ported this old ASP site to Ruby on Rails a while back. The neat part is the calendar for tracking your meals and workouts, but you can't actually see it without an account. :/
  • turcanator, a python app/game that talks to your MIDI keyboard so you can practice playing the piano.
